Back to some kind of normality...

So the decorations are down and carefully packed away, the post-holiday ironing pile has been dealt with (much of it by folding instead of actually ironing) and Miss U-t-B is back at school...

{Though with Post-Christmas-Decoration Depression setting in, I decided Rudolph would stay for a while at least. The greenery has gone and he's got a floral-sprigged nose cover so he can be more incognito!  I am adopting the idea of having some winter decorations, it seems.

Mr U-t-B is not keen, but I am going to try to convince him my
deer head + woodburner + skates + cosy chair combo
is as close to a 'ski-lodge' as he's ever likely to get,
and see if Rudie can stay awhile. }

It's time to get back into the swing of things...

No, no, not like that!

No - with Mr U-t-B now sort-of retired, I think our 'swing of things' is in need of a bit of re-assessment.
Time to organise my blogging-time, my stitching-time and my work-time to allow for time together, broadening our horizons.

It feels like it might be a bit of a juggling act to start with! We'll see how many balls we can keep going!

  1. I love Rudolf I think he looks great, and the ice skates too and with the floral nose he doesn't look Christmassy at all. I decided to keep the fairy lights on the willow wigwams I made. I think they cheer the place up in the grey winter months and luckily there is only me to consider so they're staying :-)xx

  2. I love your Rudolf! I put out winter decorations each year to transition us to Valentine's Day. I have a winter tree up which is branches with handmade scarves, ice skates and mittens. I also have a winter stitched piece and white quilt on the coffee table. I do however know what you mean about time. I am going to declutter my home this year with more purpose and also try and look at my time.

  6. I'm with you on this as you know my decorations are still up ! I had a dog walk with a friend earlier & we commented how some Christmas decorations seem to stay on and on .... and remain all year - she is the Princess of fairy lights !
    Rudolph looks delightful with his pretty heart. At my friend's cafe she is finding it hard to dress the window for January - maybe a snow scene ?

    I have deleted Facebook & feel great !!!
