ABBA Greatest Hits Album

In our household, the most listened to album was this one, the cassette tape version of which was taken on our camping holiday to France and listened to relentlessly.   Hearing 'SOS' or 'Ring, Ring' will always transport me back to that holiday!

I can barely find a single snap from this era.  This is the best I can offer, from that very holiday...

  3. Now you're talking! I was 12 years old and that Abba album was the first one I ever bought with my own saved up money. I loved the Professionals (did you hear that Lewis Collins sadly died this week?), and I wore a khaki coloured flying suit to our Silver Jubilee street party!

    Happy memories indeed, thank you!

    1. It was my brother's Abba cassette - I still hadn't quite forgiven Abba for beating Olivia Newton-John in the Eurovision of 1974, so wouldn't have spent my own money on it!

  5. That picture of Martin Shaw reminds me of why I fell in love with him, aged 11, DESPITE that haircut! Cor! And he's aged handsomely, too. And on the mention of "Don't cry for me. Argentina"; do you remember the Goodies doing "Timita" and Tim singing"Don't cry for me, Marge and Tina"?

    1. I don't remember The Goodies version, probabbly because Great-Granny lived with us and she HATED The Goodies so the television would be switched off or over the moment the theme tune came on! That perm really is quite something!
