A little bit of heaven...

Simply take a nice slice from a bread-maker loaf ...

Had to crop this photo as there in the reflection on the toaster were me and Mr U-t-B looking like a pair of ne'er-do-well trolls!

Toast to perfection...

...and allow to go completely cold, before spreading with a little bit of cheaty butter and a  hint of marmalade...

Heaven on a plate!

Miss U-t-B told me the other day that she used to be so thrilled when I cut her bread in triangles when she was small!  I remember that feeling too!

How do you like your toast?

  1. The only way to eat toast is cold! Nice to know there are other weird people out there :o)

    1. Cold toast = posh supposedly! It takes so long to get it to the east wing dining room from cook's quarter, don't you know!

  2. That first sentence made me chuckle.....ne'er-do-well trolls indeed........I'm glad I'm not the only one who suffers with 'wild morning hair'.

I'm reading your post while enjoying my brekkie of a crispe bacon toastie......delicious. x

  3. I like mine white, thick, piping hot, butter and marmalade or honey, please! Leaving it to go cold? What's that all about?! My kids like a triangle too! xx

  4. Oh no, I can't eat cold toast, it makes me do the Squick-Dance!

  5. No NOT cold toast, definitely NOT.
Must be thick and hot and buttered all the way into the corners.....
(I'll get off my toast soapbox now - as you were)

  6. It's gotta be cold for me too - just with Marmite rather than Marmalade, although I can make do with Marmalade :o)

    Love the toll comment!!

  7. You're right, it is a bit of heaven.

  8. Sounds good to me, cold makes the toast crunchier. I overheard a conversation between a Mum and her very small daughter in the Doctors surgery yesterday. They were discussing the possibilities of boiled eggs and soldiers for tea. The little girls face lit up and she said "Can I have square soldiers" she was so sweet. One of the best quick meals ever.

  9. Definitely cold toast!
But ALWAYS English butter/spread!! never any foreign stuff!

  10. Don't mind cold but it has to be Marmite! Hot with butter.

  11. It's got to be hot, so the butter melts in, wish I had some marmalade - my breadmaker has just beeped. Mmmmmm...
