A little bit of heaven...

Simply take a nice slice from a bread-maker loaf ...

Had to crop this photo as there in the reflection on the toaster were me and Mr U-t-B looking like a pair of ne'er-do-well trolls!

Toast to perfection...

...and allow to go completely cold, before spreading with a little bit of cheaty butter and a  hint of marmalade...

Heaven on a plate!

Miss U-t-B told me the other day that she used to be so thrilled when I cut her bread in triangles when she was small!  I remember that feeling too!

How do you like your toast?

    1. Cold toast = posh supposedly! It takes so long to get it to the east wing dining room from cook's quarter, don't you know!

  2. That first sentence made me chuckle.....ne'er-do-well trolls indeed........I'm glad I'm not the only one who suffers with 'wild morning hair'.

I'm reading your post while enjoying my brekkie of a crispe bacon toastie......delicious. x

Must be thick and hot and buttered all the way into the corners.....

  6. It's gotta be cold for me too - just with Marmite rather than Marmalade, although I can make do with Marmalade :o)

  8. Sounds good to me, cold makes the toast crunchier. I overheard a conversation between a Mum and her very small daughter in the Doctors surgery yesterday. They were discussing the possibilities of boiled eggs and soldiers for tea. The little girls face lit up and she said "Can I have square soldiers" she was so sweet. One of the best quick meals ever.

  11. It's got to be hot, so the butter melts in, wish I had some marmalade - my breadmaker has just beeped. Mmmmmm...
