Lurking in the bottom of a drawer, or at the back of the airing cupboard, you might well have something like this...
It's meant to go on the back of your sofa and protect it from the hair oil your beloved styles his hair with. But as my beloved doesn't have any hair oil - his own hairstyle keeps itself pretty much in check without the need for such things, maybe due to the fact that there's not much of it! - it seemed a fairly safe bet to snatch this from the drawer and give it a new lease of life!
First some patch pockets were added, at a jaunty angle, then a couple of lines of cotton tape or ribbon...
Next, a waistband...
Look - that's a whole pile of sunshine landing on my sewing table! It was a beautiful day yesterday! |
...and a couple of ties...
Et voilà! A pretty, thrifty apron!
I'm linking up with Justine's Sew-and-Tell Saturday for this post - hop over for lots of imaginative sewing projects!
Beautiful, so much nicer than the plastic thing I wear.
