I've been tagged!

No, not electronically to let the authorities know my whereabouts and keep me under curfew, but in the much nicer bloggy sense, by Ada, The Vintage Sheet Addict.

Do pop along to her blog - not only will you find all manner of zingy, retro prints and fabrics to drool over, but she is also hosting a fab giveaway at the moment!

I am now meant to share eleven random facts about myself and answer the eleven questions set by Ada, followed by setting eleven new questions and tagging eleven blogs with less than 200 followers.

I'm not sure if I will get this all done tonight (I have an appointment with trash TV in a while...) so please forgive me if I do this in two parts.

First of all, the random facts.

I am a bit like Harry Potter in that I have a scar on my forehead, but mine was caused by a witch instead of Vold...he-who-must-not-be-named.  (Game of Fairies and Witches at school aged about five - me (fairy) sent flying by the pursuing witch.)

Whilst we're on the subject of scars, I have one on my leg caused by holding a piece of paper upon which a message written in invisible ink was burning away.  A bit of molten liquid fell on my leg - cue a rather panic-stricken science teacher!

One of my classmates at junior school is the music maestro on 'Strictly'. (I've probably mentioned this before.  It's one of only two claims to fame I have.)

Which brings me on to...I was once kissed by Shane Ritchie.  (And yes, it was that way round.  He just came up to me (in the audience at a show) and planted one on me!)

I love cereal - especially muesli - and would happily have just that for my evening meal (and sometimes do!)

If I could be any book character, I would chose to live the idyllic life of Milly-Molly-Mandy.

If I was suddenly catapulted into international acting stardom, I'd demand a role opposite Liam Neeson.

I once ran about a mile through the streets of Paris in my bikini.  (It's a long story!)

I can't tell jokes for toffees.  I always forget the punchline, or tell it too soon...

I don't watch 'Downton Abbey'.  Ssshhhh!

I do watch decidedly dodgy singing contests.  Even more ssssshhhhhh!

Okay, now the answers to Ada's questions.

What's on your bedside table?
I don't have a bedside table, just a photo box to allow me to put a cup of tea within reach in the mornings!

What's on the top of you wardrobe?
My wardrobe goes all the way to the ceiling, so thankfully that's another place I can't accumulate clutter!  Though the top cupboard does have my old Tiny Tears, teddy and items of clothing I've kept for sentimental reasons, so that's a bit clutter-y.

Happiest memory?
Aside from obvious ones like wedding day and the birth of my sweet daughter, I look back fondly on summery childhood days going for picnics beside the Thames, or to my Dad's cricket matches.

Favourite toy as a child, or adult?
Tiny Tears (even if I did chew one of her fingers off).

Your perfect holiday destination?
Anywhere with family or good friends!

Spring or Autumn?
Autumn

What's your moto, number one rule, you live your life by!
If you can't think of anything nice to say, don't say anything.

If you had a time machine, what year would you like to land in?
1794 - to track down one of my ancestors and find out who his parents were!  I've got an interesting mystery in my family tree and would dearly love to solve it!

Roast dinner or fish and chips?
Roast (beef + Yorkshire Pudding)

What makes you 'belly laugh'?
When someone says something that wasn't intended as funny but it comes out wrong and sounds ridiculous.

Favourite outfit, past or present?
I still have this dress up in my top cupboard, so I guess it must be a favourite.  I made it but only wore it once - fitted black velvet bodice and electric blue, metallic flock fabric for the band at the top and skirt.  Shame about the finger over the lens!

PS Dear Blogger
What are you doing with my layout?

Thanks for the tag Ada!  That was tricky, but fun!

  2. Fabulous dress - very Human League ( I was told I danced like the girls back then ) These days that science teacher would be sued !

I adore Liam Neeson in Love Actually and he wins Claudia Schiffer's heart in my version of the ending !

I hope you solve your family mystery !
