How the years have flown...

Almost five years ago, a somewhat nervous and hugely drowned-in-the-new-uniform Miss U-t-B set off for her first day at secondary school...

Today was her last day before her GCSE study leave begins, and yesterday was the last day, sort-of, in uniform (they were allowed to 'muck-up' hence the jumper had been turned into a cardigan, the blouse had been prepared for signing and the shoes had been decorated, though the blazer, after briefly acquiring hot-glued sequins and PVAed glitter, was then rescued from its jazzing up as she didn't like it!)

I didn't buy uniform for her to grow into - these were the smallest size available!

Anyway, grow she has, though mostly upwards!

Good luck to her, all her friends and all the other children about to embark on public exams!

  10. Oh my I know exactly how you feel. My son breaks up for study leave tomorrow. Those five years went so fast from the time he wore a blazer I had to take the sleeves up on, until this year when every time I brought new trousers they fitted for less than each six week term before a longer pair were needed. They grow up so fast but I'm proud to say he's a wonderful teenager. Good luck for the exams xxx

  11. Great pictures. What is it with teenagers, though, and sticking their tongues out for photographs? They're all at it!

  12. I know how you feel Alix, my three are Peter, air traffic controller 49, Penny works for Bupa 46 and Matthew a Hospital Sister 43 and I still can't believe that they are that age. Also we had our Grandson living with us from the age of 14 and he is now 23 and living and working in London. Of course, we don't look a day older. lol
Your daughter looks a lovely girl.
